BlogWelcome To The Toronto Brothers Blog| 2008-04-18 21:20:48 | Permalink Civilization is often defined by the development of language, culture, and the arts resulting from the formation of human communities. Although technology has changed the world significantly since those humble beginnings, the human desire to communicate and learn through culture has remained both with us and within us. The nature of human interaction has developed different dimensions since the advent of the Internet, and communication is no longer limited by distance or time. Each of us is capable of broadcasting our thoughts instantly to a world that is always listening. The widespread awareness of Carnatic Music has grown tremendously since the arrival of the internet through websites offering everything from recordings to musicians’ touring schedules to discussion forums. In the same spirit, we would like to welcome the world to our new blog, which will be updated with news, thoughts, essays, commentary, and events centered on our common love of Carnatic Music. Please check back frequently for updates and give us your feedback. We’d love to hear your thoughts! Responses To This Blog Entry

My son has developed a late but ardent interest in Carnatic music. He lives in the US & due to his work & other circumstances he cannot learn it formally. Is there any source or CD from which he can learn the geethams? Shivkumar's lessons on his website are good but I would like to have a recording of the geethams sung completely& continuously at one go. I hope you understand what I mean. Is there such a CD & if so where can I get it in Chennai? I do hope you are able to help me . Thank you
